  • 200 g Butter, softened
  • 100 ml Vegetable oil
  • 1 large Egg
  • 10 g Baking powder
  • 10 g Vanilla sugar
  • 200 ml Cornstarch
  • 200 g Powdered sugar
  • 700 ml All-purpose flour

Optional Mix-ins

  • 1 cup Chocolate chips or chunks
  • 1/2 cup Chopped nuts
  • Sea salt flakes for sprinkling

Preparation

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, beat together softened butter, vegetable oil, and egg until smooth and creamy.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, powdered sugar, baking powder, vanilla sugar, and cornstarch.
  • Gradually add dry ingredients into wet, mixing just until combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips or other mix-ins if desired.
  • Scoop dough into balls and place on the prepared baking sheet with space between.

Baking

  • Bake for 10–12 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  • Let cool on baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. Freeze cookie dough balls or baked cookies for up to 3 months. Microwave for 10–15 seconds to enjoy warm, soft cookies again.
