Main Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup 1/2 cup (1 stick) salted butter Melted
  • 4 1/2 cups 4 1/2 cups Bisquick or similar baking mix
  • 1 cup 1 cup 7-Up or lemon-lime soda Gives the fluffiest result
  • 1 cup 1 cup full-fat sour cream Can be substituted with Greek yogurt

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
  • Melt butter in a small saucepan and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, combine Bisquick mix.
  • In another bowl, whisk together sour cream and 7-Up (it will fizz—this is normal).
  • Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  • Lightly flour your work surface. Drop the dough, then gently shape into balls or cut with a biscuit cutter.
  • Place biscuits into a greased baking dish. Pour melted butter evenly over the top.

Baking

  • Bake for 12–15 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  • Let cool slightly and serve warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Freeze for up to 1 month. Reheat in a 350°F oven for about 10 minutes or until warmed through. Avoid microwaving to maintain texture.
