Donut Grilled Cheese with Bacon Maple Glaze

  • 2 pieces glazed donuts, sliced in half horizontally
  • 4 slices bacon cooked until crispy
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup for drizzling

Cooking

  • Fry the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Then, remove it and drain on paper towels.
  • Slice each glazed donut in half horizontally.
  • In the same skillet, place one half of each donut cut-side facing up and add 2 slices of cheddar cheese on each half.
  • Top each cheese layer with 2 slices of crispy bacon.
  • Cover with the other half of the donut, cut-side down, to form a sandwich.
  • Grill the sandwiches for about 2-3 minutes on each side until the donuts are golden brown and the cheese has melted.
  • Remove from the skillet and drizzle maple syrup over the top before serving.

Notes

You can substitute cheddar cheese with Gouda or Brie for a gourmet twist. Watch the cooking heat to prevent burning the donuts.
