  • 1 pound Sausage (pork, turkey, or chicken)
  • 2 cups Milk
  • 1/4 cup All-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • enough to cover your dish Biscuits (homemade or store-bought)

Preparation

  • In a skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until browned and crumbled (about 5–7 minutes).
  • Sprinkle flour over the sausage and stir to coat. Cook for 1 minute to form a roux.
  • Slowly pour in milk while stirring continuously. Simmer until thickened (5–8 minutes). Season with salt.
  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Pour sausage gravy into a baking dish or pie plate.
  • Top with biscuits, slightly overlapping if needed.
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, until biscuits are golden brown.
  • Let rest a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3–4 days. Freeze individual portions tightly wrapped for up to 2 months. Reheat in microwave for 1–2 minutes or in a 350°F oven until hot throughout.
