Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef Browned before adding to slow cooker
  • 4 large potatoes, peeled and diced Chop evenly for uniform cooking
  • 1 onion chopped Add for flavor
  • 1 cup frozen peas and carrots, thawed Add for veggies and color
  • 1/2 cup beef broth Use to enhance flavor
  • 1 can (10.75 oz) cream of mushroom soup For creaminess
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder For added flavor
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika For a hint of smokiness
  • Salt and pepper to taste Salt and pepper Adjust seasoning as preferred

Optional Ingredients

  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded Sprinkle on top before serving

Preparation

  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, breaking it up into small pieces. Drain any excess fat.
  • In a large bowl, combine the cooked ground beef, chopped onion, diced potatoes, peas and carrots, garlic powder, beef broth, and cream of mushroom soup. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  • Pour the mixture into your slow cooker, spreading it out evenly.

Cooking

  • Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or until the potatoes are tender.
  • About 10 minutes before serving, sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top (if using) and cover until melted.
  • Stir gently to combine and enjoy your delicious Hamburger Hash!

Notes

Feel free to swap in your favorite vegetables—bell peppers or corn work wonderfully in this recipe. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
