Ingredients

Filling

  • 1 lb ground sausage mild or spicy based on preference
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese optional
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Dough

  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent rolls 8-count per can

Garnish

  • Fresh parsley chopped, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until fully browned. Drain any excess grease.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine cooked sausage, softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar (optional), garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
  • Open the cans of crescent rolls and separate the dough into triangles on a clean work surface.

Assembly

  • At the wide end of each crescent roll triangle, place a spoonful of the sausage mixture and roll it up, tucking in the sides.
  • Place filled crescents on a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, until golden brown and puffed up.
  • Let cool for a few minutes, garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve warm.

Notes

Consider adding ingredients like sautéed onions or bell peppers for a twist. Don't overfill the crescents to avoid mess. Bake immediately after assembling for best results.
