Ingredients

Cake Ingredients

  • 1 box white cake mix
  • 1 cup strawberries, sliced
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 large eggs

Instructions

  • Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grab a 9x13 inch baking dish and grease it lightly.
  • Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, combine the white cake mix, vegetable oil, water, and eggs. Mix until smooth, ensuring no lumps remain.
  • Step 3: In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until creamy.
  • Step 4: Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the sliced strawberries evenly over it, followed by dollops of the cream cheese mixture. Pour the remaining batter on top.
  • Step 5: Bake in the preheated oven for about 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  • Step 6: Allow the cake to cool for about 10 minutes in the pan before serving. You’ll notice that the cake has cracked slightly—an indication of its “earthquake” origin!

Notes

This delightful dessert pairs beautifully with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. For a refreshing option, serve it alongside fresh fruit salad or a light berry compote.
